Kareem Eldomiaty is an Egyptian architect whose work explores the relationship between hospitality, construction, landscape, and contemporary vernacular architecture. With more than fifteen years of experience across design and execution, his approach combines technical precision with a sensitivity to atmosphere, materiality, and the experience of inhabiting space. His background spans luxury hospitality projects, from international hotel construction at Tétris to the development of the Orient Express Hotels in Rome and Venice, where he developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, detail, and spatial sequencing.
His connection to Siwa Oasis, however, extends far beyond professional practice. Since 2001, his family's presence in the oasis through Talist, their family-owned ecolodge, has shaped a long-term engagement with Siwan culture, climate, and building traditions. Bayt Gagy emerged from this lived familiarity with the oasis and was developed in close collaboration with his brother and creative partner, Ehab Eldomiaty, whose contribution was central to the project's architectural identity and spatial atmosphere. The realization of the house was further strengthened by Mohammed Amin, who led key aspects of construction management and on-site coordination, working closely with local craftsmen to translate the project into built form. Together, the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to architecture rooted in material honesty, environmental responsiveness, and a strong sense of place.
